The quiet
village is situated in a picturesque valley in the heart of the
Balaton highlands. The surrounding hills, with ruins of monastic
buildings from the 12-13th centuries, offer splendid views of the
lake. Dörgicse is an ideal starting point for hiking and biking
tours, while the cultural and natural attractions of Tihany, Balatonfüred,
Veszprém, Nagyvázsony, Tapolca, Sümeg or Badacsony (and much more)
are also at a 20-40 minute leisurely drive. Balatonakali, with one
of the finest beaches of the Balaton, is a mere 5 kms. The house
itself is an excellent place for the holiday of a larger family,
or even two families (up to 8 persons). The 150-200 year old, 100
square m cottage, built of limestone, with a thatched roof, is in
the centre of the village. Fully renovated in 2000, it still preserves
its traditional style, but is supplied with modern conveniences. |
